Snoop Dogg –or Snoop Lion or Snoop Doggy Dog or Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr.- will grace this year’s Springfest.

Here’s some fun facts:

  • His debut album was called Doggystyle
  • He has sold over 30 million albums worldwide.
  • It was after a trip in 2012 to Jamiace that he was inspired to convert to the Rastafari movement and take on the new alias, Snoop Lion. He released the reggae album Reincarnated as well a documentary of the same name.
  • He’s made numerous film and tv appearances including the L Word, Entourage and One Life to Live.
  • He has claimed to smoke 80 marijuana blunts a day. He is certified for medical marijuana.
  • He has three kids with his high school sweetheart.

Melanie Dostis is a journalism major at Northeastern University.
