Going Crazy in Close Quarters: How to Make it Work in 30 Feet or LessBy October 10, 2012 - 8:00am My roommate sings to herself. Sometimes I’lI have work to do, so I request that she wear headphones, which she does without complaint. Simple enough... Five minutes later, the singing begins. And this isn’t quiet little humming. It’s out-of-key high notes and bad squeaky kind of singing. Here’s the problem: at home, my sister hummed ALL THE TIME. It got to be a little frustrating, so I was looking forward to a lack of poorly hummed (or sung) songs once I arrived at school. No such luck. I’m usually not a high-maintenance individual, but I do think that everyone, myself included, has a couple of pet peeves. READ MORE |

If this sounds like a typical morning for you, here are some tips and tricks to officially end things with your snooze button and rebound with a newfound love for that 8:00 A.M. lecture. READ MORE |

Sober Sally: Living on the (Straight) Edge for 6 monthsBy October 5, 2012 - 8:00am Beach trips, getting tan, and drinking every night (unless you’re on co-op or in classes…sorry Northeastern). These are just a few reasons why summer is the best season of the year. But this past summer, my world came crashing down when I learned that, due to a medical issue, I could not drink alcohol for six months. READ MORE |

A Shot to the Lips, Forever on the Hips?By October 2, 2012 - 12:00am It is finally Friday: Cheers to the Freakin’ Weekend! And just like the song says, many college kids will "drink to that." Why not, right? Once Friday night hits, a large portion of college students across the nation – whether they’re underage freshmen or almost graduated seniors – will drink into the early hours of Saturday morning. We’ve all heard, numerous times, alcohol is empty calories. But how empty? One reason the ‘Freshman 15’ exists is because when freshman go to college, they often consume much more alcohol than they did in high school. READ MORE |

All Aboard The Hot-Mess Express: #whitegirlwastedBy September 28, 2012 - 12:00am Coco Chanel once said, “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” If only the late great fashion icon could see girls today, vomiting into bushes in front of Au Bon Pain. Now, I’m not a hater – I like girls, and would love nothing more than to spend my days chatting endlessly about hot topics like this week’s pyramid on “Dance Moms” and the hijinks that just unfolded on the most recent episode of “Pretty Little Liars.” READ MORE |

The Collegiette Husky Survival GuideBy September 27, 2012 - 1:20pm The fall semester just started up a few weeks ago, and many Northeastern students are still getting a feel for campus. There are the obvious things every freshman and transfer student learns in orientation – like how to find Marino and Stetson East – but there are so many more resources around our school that could take a few years to figure out.
