A Letter to the Producers of Project Runway

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Northeastern chapter.

Dear Project Runway Producers,

We have a problem. I understand that Project Runway: All Stars is technically a spin-off of Project Runway and the two shows are not the same thing. But how dare you get rid of Heidi and Tim?! You replaced the fabulous host and amazing mentor with model Angela Lindvall and Marie Claire Editor-in-Chief Joanna Coles! Beyond that, the show has all new judges! Where are the skeptical Nina Garcia and the fabulous (and clementine orange) Michael Kors? The new judges, Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman have yet to impress me.

To be perfectly honest, I’m disappointed in you.

The good news for fans is that the designers on the show are all familiar faces from previous seasons… hence the “All Stars” portion of the title. I’m so happy to see beloved faces such as the talented Mondo and the over the top Anthony.

Also, producers, I’m glad that the guest judges you’ve announced so far sound promising. Fashionable elites such as Diane von Furstenburg, Miranda Kerr, and even Miss Piggy (she does wear Chanel skirt and blazer sets afterall) are scheduled to appear on the show.

So, despite the fact that Angela comes across as a dull, monotone, Heidi Klum-wannabee and Joanna is not nearly as interesting or helpful as Tim Gunn, I look forward to watching the rest of Project Runway: All Stars. I know that all of the designers are very talented, and I’m sure some drama will occur in the workroom (I can’t wait!).

But seriously, why mess with a good thing? The original cast was one-of-a-kind, and they will be missed.

All my love,
Alli
