I am a native Washingtonian, recently transplanted into the wonderful city of Boston. I grew up taking the DC Metro, and was originally skeptical of the public transport up here in Boston. However, since being in this city I have come to realize that the T is actually the better form of public transportation. I originally thought that the T could never compare to the Metro, but I soon began to see that the T reigns supreme over the metro. Here are the 5 reasons why I have come to love the T:

1. The scary noises and weird turns

With the loud screeching and the turning of the cars every outing is like a trip on Space Mountain!

2. The limited amount of seating

The constant struggle to remain standing because there are no seats is a great leg workout!

3. The flat rate of $2.40 to go anywhere in the city

I am actually completely serious when I say it is amazing to be able to go anywhere without worrying about peak times or paying what feels like $100 to go across the city.

4. The fact that you can eat on the T!

Because that’s not weird at all, and who doesn’t want to eat on public transportation!?

5. The escelefting

It really helps you slow down and take a moment on my trip when people are standing on the left side, the walking side(!!), of the escalator.
