Campus Celebrities: The Cast of Clybourne Park

Clybourne Park, playing in the studio theatre in Curry Student Center now through November 22, is the third production of Northeastern Theatre Department’s 2015-2016 season and features a talented cast of seven NU students. The play, written by Bruce Norris, focuses on two sets of neighbors in an examination of the role of race relations in American communities, both in the 1950’s and today.

Northeastern students have been involved in all aspects of Clybourne, from acting, production and design. Tickets are $5 for NU students and can be purchased on myneu!

Eva Friedman (Bev/Kathy) is a third year theatre major/elementary education minor. Previous Northeastern credits include Cecily Cardew in The Importance of Being Earnest and Young Townsperson in Elephant’s Graveyard. She is originally from Chicago, IL, where she interned at Porchlight Music Theatre, and is currently on co-op at the Heath School in Brookline, MA. Eva is the treasurer of Silver Masque, and recently completed the Summer Training Institute at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA. Later this semester, she will be making her debut as a playwright and director with a short play produced by Silver Masque.

 

Kaya Simmons (Albert/Kevin) is a fourth year sociology major with minors in economics and theatre. Previous Northeastern credits include AP in Columbinus. Currently on co-op, Kaya works for Good Sports, a non-profit that improves sports participation for disadvantaged youth through the donation of equipment and apparel. Originally from Brooklyn, Kaya is open to many different fields, including acting, sports law, and journalism.

 

Chester Domoracki (Russ/Dan) is a fourth year theatre major whose previous credits include Lord Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, Mr. Pinkerton in Pinkalicious!, Dr. Fisher in Donnie Darko, Dr. Dorn in The Seagull, Larry in Company, Lee in Radium Girls, Minister in The Long Christmas Ride Home, and Matt in Dog Sees God, as well as several offstage positions. He is a National Merit Scholar.

 

Lauren Teixeira (Betsy/Lindsey) is a first year theatre major, originally from East Greenwich, Rhode Island, who is thrilled to be making her Northeastern University debut. Lauren is also on the build crew for both of this season’s productions. She plans to pursue a career in acting and dedicates this performance to her Pepere.

 

Jamez Anderson (Francine/Lena) is a second year theatre major and women and gender studies minor. Previous credits at Northeastern include Performer and Writer in Body Maps, Attendant in Antigone, and Teacher/Counselor in Columbinus. She is the Social Media Manager of Silver Masque, and Treasurer of The Northeastern Shakespeare Society. Originally from Pennsylvania, her favorite playwright is Leil LaBute, and a she plans on pursuing a graduate degree and a career in performance.

 

Sam Mulcahy (Jim/Tom/Kenneth) is a second year theatre major from St. Louis, Missouri. He has two previous Northeastern credits, having appeared as Jock in Columbinus last February and in Tim Miller’s Body Maps in September. Sam is also a trained theatre technician and has worked on multiple Northeastern shows including last year’s productions of Urinetown and Lysistrata. His favorite musical is Assassins by Stephen Sondheim.

 

Grant Terzakis (Karl/Steve) is a senior theatre major from Chicago, IL. Previous Northeastern credits include Mr. Jack Worthing in Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, Chorus in Sophocles’ Antigone, Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, and Marshal in Elephant’s Graveyard by George Brant. Grant is the secretary of Silver Masque and was recently awarded the Eugene Blackman Scholarship. After graduating in May, Grant plans to move to Los Angeles and pursue a career in film.
