Cooking Collegiette Style: Chicken Cordon Bleu

By Savannah Reiff
October 16, 2012 - 8:09am

Let’s face it, if you tell someone you are making Chicken Cordon Bleu for dinner, most people won’t know what it is. Maybe you don’t know what it is… but they’ll think you are some masterchef because it sounds French. So go ahead, let them think you are an amazing chef and just don’t let them in the kitchen while you make this. Sure, there are plenty of complicated and difficult ways to make it, but we’re in college, we want something easy and delicious. (Side note: you’ll have some leftover ingredients which can be used to make sandwiches for easy lunches later on which are always a plus).

NEU Sidewalk Catwalk | Oct. 10

By Lauren Spinella
October 10, 2012 - 12:00pm

In honor of last week’s kick-off of College Fashion Week in Boston, I figured the perfect place to scout out this week’s fashionista was at the show-stopping hit itself. Plus, a piece about collegiette formal wear is always essential. Collegiettes especially have plenty of reasons to dress up – whether it’s a night out with the girls or a date to the Top of the Hub- there’s nothing we love more than putting on a dress and heels (although I usually regret the heels part at the end of the night). October 8, 2012 - 8:59pm

We on the HC Northeastern staff know that one of everyone’s favorite features on our site is our weekly Campus Cutie. So we were super excited when we heard that one of our own Cuties, Ron Landayan , would be running for Homecoming King this year! We asked Ron a few questions about his campaign and why he thinks he’d make the best Homecoming King for 2012. READ MORE

Cooking Collegiette Style: Homemade Guacamole

By Savannah Reiff
October 4, 2012 - 8:00am

Time for some comfort food and it’s football season, so that means spending Sundays hanging around with friends watching the game and eating chips. Instead of running to Qdoba for chips and guacamole, make your own, and control what goes in it to make it as healthy as you’d like. If you still want to make your own guacamole but are afraid of messing up, I’ve added some easy alternative options after the recipe. Homemade Guacamole Ingredients: READ MORE

Northeastern Fashionist-o: Look of the Week

By Claudia Frau
October 1, 2012 - 12:00am

SPOTTED! Guys, this campus is your catwalk also! And fall weather is already here and we know what means... A fabulous coat (or two, or three) and of course trendy boots to match – Angel Peña, a middler a Political Science major, dishes on his style. Angel is wearing a baby blue oxford shirt and blue squared tie with black corduroy pants paired with brown suede shoes (love!). And for that chilly weather we've been getting, a heavy black peacoat. Fall is finally here, collegiettes! This is my all-time favorite season; this not-too-hot, but not-too-cold weather is the perfect time to experiment with new outfits before we have to resort to heavy coats and snow boots. It’s time to pack away our flip-flops and strapless shirts, but don’t worry, because this is the time for cute jackets, riding boots, and scarves galore. READ MORE

NU Uncorked: Kicking it with Carlo

By Emily Cassel
September 18, 2012 - 1:24am

Welcome to NU Uncorked! This is a blog about wine, except that it’s not really. It’s more about drinking cheap things that come in pretty bottles. This column won’t contain descriptive phrases like “okay flavor” or “perky but not too aggressive.” (Because what does that even mean?) It will, however, be filled with helpful tips like, “This wine gave me a hangover that lasted for three days. And also made me throw up on my boyfriend’s rug.” It’s a wine blog for the everywoman. So please, join me in my feeble attempt to get cultured. Together we’ll learn how to pronounce things like Pouilly-Fumé and Sangiovese! READ MORE
