3 Ways to Relax After Finals

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Northeastern chapter.

It’s officially finals szn, and everyone is stressed beyond belief. Once all the studying and test-taking is finally over, it’s easy to forget that you deserve to treat yourself.

Below are three different ways you can kick back and relax when every scantron has been filled and you’re still in the ignorant bliss of not knowing what you got on your stats final.

1. Stay in and cook your favorite meal.

Whenever I did well on a huge test in high school, my mom would make me whatever meal I requested. Now that I live halfway across the country, it’s up to me to make my favorite meal for myself! Lately, my favorite meal has been these sweet potato tacos. After my stomach is full, I love to relax with a hot cup of tea and catch up on all the T.V. shows I didn’t have time to watch while I was studying. If it’s early enough, I’ll have Yogi tea’s Sweet Tangerine Positive Energy, or if I’m winding down for the night after a big meal, I’ll sip on a cup of Green Tea Blueberry Slim Life. After that, I head to bed early to catch up on all the sleep I missed in the previous week!

2. Have a spa night.

You don’t need to go out and spend a ton of money to pamper yourself. Having an at-home spa night is something you can do with friends or by yourself, and it can be fairly inexpensive! I start off by taking a hot shower, washing my hair and exfoliating my whole body. As I’ve spent the past week hibernating in the library, my legs probably look like a bear’s, so I use my Pure Silk Shave Cream to help bring me back to my normal state. After I get out of the shower and my pores are open, I like to use a 7 Wonders face mask. My favorite is the Caribbean Coconut Calming Mask, because this winter wind is making my face super red and dry. There’s no better feeling than climbing into bed with freshly shaved legs and a clean face without the stress of homework hanging over your head.

3. Make yourself up and go out!

While a night in is always relaxing, sometimes you just need to go out and let loose (responsibly!). I personally find the process of putting makeup on very serene and calming, and while we’d all love to have Sephora be our own personal makeup drawer, most of us are ballin’ on a budget. My new favorite brand at the drugstore is Rimmel. You can complete a whole look with products that are all less than $8! I put their Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner in my waterline, and swipe on some Scandaleyes Original Mascara. I brush some Natural Bronzer on my cheeks because any tan I had before faded during the long hours under the fluorescent library lights, and finally, I put on the Provocalips 16HR Kissproof Lip Colour because it won’t come off even after three beers (or waters!).

Good luck on your finals, Huskies, and don’t forget to treat yoself.
