This Thanksgiving will be my first year as a devoted vegetarian, which doesn’t’ make my family too happy. As a vegetarian, I am constantly answering questions about my dietary choices. This year, I am putting that aside and cooking up the best meat-free dishes I could find. This time they’ll see how delicious being a vegetarian can really be, even on Thanksgiving!

Here are some of my favorite recipes that will be on my table this year.

Classic Simple Stuffing

Ingredients:  Bread cubes, unsalted butter, onion, celery, mushrooms, ground sage, no salt added vegetable broth (always substitute for chicken broth) salt and pepper (Mom makes her own sometimes). See cooking directions!

Breaded Turkey-Less Stuffed Roast with Gravy from Trader Joes

You can’t have Thanksgiving without the turkey. Grab this turkey-less stuffed roast from Trader Joes and your guests won’t be complaining. “Made with seasoned soy protein and organic ancient grain flour, it was touted for its remarkable texture and flavor…Driven to make this main course as delicious and desirable as possible, we’ve punched up the wild rice stuffing with bursts of cranberries and coated the roast in crispy breading, seasoned with herbs and red pepper flakes.”

And for dessert…

Giada’s Thanksgiving Turkeys

These are too cute to pass up.

Ingredients: Semisweet chocolate chips, candy corn candies, chocolate sandwich cookies, mini peanut butter cups, malt balls, red frosting. See directions!

Happy Thanksgiving!
