Whenever I tell people that I want to travel to a new destination every chance I get, I always get the same response.  People always say to me, “How do you travel so much and you’re a broke college student?” If you budget correctly, anyone can do it. Here are some tips to save money while seeing the world as a college student.

  1. When buying flights, try searching different websites to find deals. Websites like Secret Flying or Student Universe. Also, check out the YouTube channel ‘Damon and Jo’. They have so many tips about traveling on a budget!

  2. Hotels can be very expensive sometimes! Hostels are a cheaper option. Not only are they cheaper, but you can meet other travelers from different countries by staying with them (If you’re comfortable). Once I stayed in a hostel in D.C. I met so many new people that I still keep in contact with.

  3. Travel with someone! This can be a great way to save money on food, excursions, and more. If you have traveling buddy, you can take turns buying groceries and cooking.

  4. When you only bring a carry on it can save so much money. This tip was hard for me because I tend to over-pack, but saying that money is worth it.

  5. Hopefully these tips can help someone see the world. If it did, don’t forget to take pictures!
