1. What is your favorite movie and why?

Think Like A Man; I really like the storyline, and actors. Some of my favorite actors are in the movie like Terrence J and Kevin Hart. Also, I just love love stories!

2. If you could spend a day with anyone dead or alive, who would it be?

I would love to spend a day with Michelle Obama. She is just poised, polished, and so smart! I just would want to talk to her about being First Lady, her experience in school, maybe do a dance class with her because she’s so healthy and fit! I just think she’s just so inspiring!

3. How do you manage your time with being an honors student, being involved in organizations and still having a social life?

I manage my time by faithfully sticking to my planner, and I just prioritize. I do the things that are most important to me first. School of course is important, but having a social life is important to me as well. I like meeting new people and being able to go to programs, as well. So that’s basically how I manage my time.

4. Why did you choose to attend A&T?

I came on a college tour a group I was in with the YMCA called Teen Achievers. On the tour, our tour guide was really nice, and everyone on campus was really friendly. I loved the school pride. I thought I could come here and really excel. It’s big enough to where I knew I wouldn’t know everyone, but small enough to where it feels like family.

5. What is your favorite college memory?

My favorite college memory is GHOE 2015! For GHOE, all my mentors that had graduated came back. We went to the game, we tailgated, all of the parties were fun! It was just a really fun time! Another favorite memory, was last year for Easter. I didn’t go home, so I went to church with one of my mentors and after church we had a potluck Easter dinner, and it felt like family! It was like an Easter family dinner, but college edition! It was really fun to spend time with my friends!

6. Why did you want to be apart of the honors program, as well as Miss Honors?

I took honors classes in high school. When I found out that A&T had an honors program, I figured why not. I am a high achievement student. My tour guide from my visit was an honors student, and he basically told me all of the perks of being an honors student, like moving in early and nice dorms. So that’s basically why I wanted to be in honors. I wanted to be Miss Honors because my freshman year I was really active in the Honors Program, and I thought Victoria Harvey, Miss Honors from last year, was really good and I looked up to her at the time. I also like doing community service and giving back, and I thought it would be a cool way to do that with being Miss Honors.

7. What are your career goals?

After graduating college, I want to work with companies help them improve diversity and multiculturalism communications and marketing strategies. I also want to get my M.B.A.

8. What are you doing this upcoming summer?

I will be interning with Facebook at their headquarters in Menlow Park, CA. I will be working with Instagram’s Product Marketing team!

9. What is your proudest accomplishment?

My proudest accomplishment is getting a full ride to come to A&T. Senior year was a lot. I was applying for all these scholarships, praying a lot, and all my hard work paid off. So, I’m really proud of that.

10. What is the one thing you want people to remember you for?

I want people to think positively of me. I want people to think “Wow, Kristen was very nice, caring, positive, willing to give back, and really genuine.”

Hi everyone! I am a sophomore at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University who should be majoring in Weddings, but is actually a Journalism & Mass Communications student with a concentration in Multimedia. Originally I am from Woodbridge, Virginia, which is about 30 minutes south of our nation’s capital. I have lived here all my life, but I’m not afraid to branch out and explore the world. This past summer I studied abroad in Sydney, Australia to engage and immerse myself in Australian culture. The experience was phenomenal and I’m already counting down the days until I can return that beautiful country. Check out my Tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook.
