When women hear the word breast cancer, it  sends a haunting feeling down your spine. Many women begin to worry that they may someday be affected by this disease. In every family, there is at least one person who has been touched by this nightmare. Although breast cancer isn’t 100% treatable, there are many steps to take in order to prevent your body from going through it.

Today, there are so many treatments out there, which decrease the chance of a woman (or man!) getting breast cancer. Treatments have become much better compared to previous years. Thankfully, these treatments will only continue to get better as days go on.

I’ve researched a few tips that can possibly help lower the risk of gettin breast cancer.

  1. Keep Your Weight in Check

Your weight is a factor that should never be ignored. You should always keep an eye on it, making sure it’s being kept in a reasonable range. Being overweight can lead to so many sicknesses, so it is important to be aware.

2. Be Physically Active

Going for a nice walk around the lake, or a jog down your street is one of  the many ways that you can become active. Working out doesn’t require a gym, you can simply do it on your own. As long as you are spending at least an hour every few days working out, you are on the right path to being healthy.

3.Vegetables and Fruits Are Key

Your diet can’t consist of junk food every single day. It’s always nice to have a side of vegetables for dinner each day. It doesn’t need to be an entire plate full, but at least try eating some. Also, you can’t go wrong with fruit. Fruit is sweet and healthy; you get the best of both worlds.

4. No Smoking

Smoking can lead to many forms of cancer; mainly lung cancer. Stay away from cigarettes at all costs! Smoking is extremely unhealthy for your body. Not only does smoking lead to cancer, but it causes bad breath, bad teeth, and wrinkles.
