More Than Clothes: Pulling Off an All-Denim Look

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Muhlenberg chapter.

The change of seasons is always a tricky and confusing time when thinking about what you should put on your body each mornings. The transition from winter to spring can be especially difficult because we never know if we still need our winter coat or not.

I am personally quite sick of wearing my huge winter coat. Okay, I’ll say it: I am totally over winter. I mean it just snowed at the beginning of April. However, to make sure I am still warm without having to pull out my puffy coat, I go with an all denim look. For starters, jeans are warmer than any other pant, leggings included. It also shows off my personal funky style. It is not basic or boring; it stands out.

Using these tips below, you can make your all denim outfit look more chic:

Your jean jacket or jeans should be different styles. One should be a baggier look and the other jean should be more fitting. Make sure you pair the two pieces carefully.

Mix up the denim color. This means wearing a lighter jacket and dark jeans, or vice versa. This will make your outfit stand out more, and highlight your body.

Do not over-accessorize. The all denim outfit is already enough. Maybe wear your everyday jewelry, or a cap. You do not want to make your outfit look like a costume.

My name is Alison and I currently go to Muhlenberg College. I study Theatre but also have an eye for fashion. My style is a huge part of who I am. I not only express myself on stage, but express myself with the my wardrobe. Owning your own style and vibe is important. Writing for HerCampus is also a privilege for me because now I can write about fashion, give advice, and encourage my readers to own who they are with the clothes they wear. I also keep people updated on my outfits and what i wear that gets me through college! I encourage people to follow me on my instgram almaybaum_ and my Visco!
