How to Beat the Struggles of a Long Distance Relationship

By Whitney Vanover

Finding a significant other during your college years is a very remarkable feeling. The two of you may have much in common: the same group of friends, similar interests and passions, and you both get to enjoy college together! There may be a down side to this unfortunately- your hometowns are nowhere near each other. This is a risk that you must face in the dating world, but just because you both aren’t from the same town doesn’t mean your relationship can’t work post graduation. Long distance relationships seem to have a negative connotation, though it is said that the distance may be what keeps you two together in the end (as crazy and wild as that sounds). READ MORE

Another fantastic year at Miami is wrapping up (as impossible as it may seem), and that means that a new freshman class is currently scattered about the country probably stressing about starting a new chapter of their life at college. Well this blog goes out to you, little freshies! The older we get, the more it becomes apparent that hindsight truly is always 20/20. One of the thing I have noticed for the past three years is that we Miamians love our fads and they almost always come on faster than it takes to get a salad at Dividends, and leave even more quickly. This semester we have seen a few new fads around campus, some lasting as long as the winter weather, and others crashing and burning faster than Lindsey Lohan after rehab (and we all know I mean Tinder). We met in my English class and seemed to hit it off right away. He compliments me a lot, and takes the time to text me to start a conversation. My roommate knows him and his group of friends, and she said he talks to a lot of different girls and not to waste my time with him. It seems like he really likes me, but now I’m wondering if he is just leading me on. How do I know if he actually likes me or if he is just playing me?

What do you think about when you think of yoga? Do you think about flexibility? Serenity? An old man who looks like Buddha? Well, if your anything like me, a combination of these images appeared in your mind, and it was only until I actually practiced yoga that I truly understood what it means to be a yogi. READ MORE
