Why did you decide to join Her Campus at MSU? Originally, I joined Her Campus because I love to write. I didn’t really want to major in journalism, but knew that my field would still involve a lot of writing. I figured that being in an organization with a writing focus would help give me good experience, while still allowing me to do what I love.

What’s your favorite part about being a member of HC at MSU? Definitely the members. I’ve met so many incredible people through HC. We’ve become such a tight knit group, and it’s an amazing feeling knowing you have a group of people that are there for you no matter what.

What have you enjoyed about being HC MSU’s PR Director? My favorite part about being the PR Director is getting to work with new members. I’m passionate about all things Her Campus, so I love showing them what a great organization it is. I know I was nervous when I first joined since I didn’t know anyone, so I like being someone they can talk to and ask questions.

What are you most looking forward to about being HC MSU’s new President next year? Everything! HC is one of my favorite things, and I think becoming President is a culmination of all of my hard work throughout these past few years. I love the girls and want to do all that I can to not only gain new members, but continue to make HC the fun and worthwhile organization it is.

What’s one of your favorite HC MSU memories? Galentine’s Day. We had a party at my sister’s, and it was so much fun. Just getting to hang out and celebrate with the girls was awesome. Anytime we get to relax and have fun together, I love.

Why did you decide to major in advertising? I came into MSU as a communications major, but wanted something a bit more specific. Enter, advertising. It’s been the perfect niche for me. It allows me to be creative and have fun, while my PR minor allows me to write. For a freshman who didn’t know what she wanted to do, I’d say I’m pretty lucky to have found a field that I love so much.

You have one semester left — how do you plan on staying motivated during the home stretch? It’s crazy to think that I have such a short time left here. I never expected to graduate early, so if you have tips on staying motivated, send them my way! But honestly, I’m excited for the last few classes I have to take. My college, the College of Communication Arts and Sciences, has some amazing courses, and I’m intrigued to see what my last few will entail. Knowing that I’m almost to the finish line will get me through!

What’s your dream job? I’d love to work with social media, as a consultant or manager. Starting my own business or brand is on the horizon for me. My dream is to work from home, that way I can travel, be with family and be my own boss. Stay tuned!
