DIY Diaries: How to Make an Ebellished Headband That’s Sure to get That Guy’s Attention!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at MSU chapter.

If you are still on the recycling kick and looking for a fun way to decorate your hair, homemade headbands are the way to go.  This week we are going to do two different variations of the embellished headband.

For the first headband you will need cardboard, newspaper, glue, paint, and a blank headband.  For the second headband you will need a ribbon, scrap fabric (I used the fabric from the spiral scarf craft), glue, thread, and a small piece of cardboard.

Draw whatever figure you want as a headband (I did a star) on the cardboard.

Cut out the star.  I cut out four but it depends on how many you want on your headband.

Put a layer of glue on the cardboard cut out.  Wrap newspaper around the cardboard.  When you have wrapped the newspaper on the cutout let the glue dry.

After the cut out has dried paint it whatever color you want.  Then let the paint dry.

Put glue on the back of the cut out, and place it along the headband.  Let it dry and you have a new headband.

That’s it now you have a new embellished headband sure to catch that special someone’s eye!
