Are you feeling sexy and flirty?
Tuesday night saw the premiere of the 2015 Victoria Secret’s Fashion Show! The night was filled with great fashion, great music and a game of “I Spy” as the cameras panned to the audience multiples times where you could see many of your favorite celebrities in attendance! In the front row, it was impossible to miss people like Kris Jenner, alongside her boyfriend Corey Gamble, Nick Cannon, Tyson Beckford and Adrian Grenier. Although the audience was star studded, the real stars of the night were the angles who strutted their stuff in their spectacular wings.
Your 2015 Victoria Secret Angels included Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosia, Lily Aldridge, Taylor Hill, Elsa Hosk, Martha Hunt, Kate Grigirieva, Jac Jagaciak, Stella Maxwell, Behati Prinsloo, Lais Ribeiro, Sara Sampaio, Candice Swanepoel, Romee Strijd and Jasmine Tookes with newcomers Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. The cherry on top? Live performances from The Weeknd, Selena Gomez, and Ellie Goulding!
LET’S GET ON TO THE SHOW!
This year’s show had six out-of-the-box themes and seventy-five fabulous looks. The show began with a Boho Psychedelic theme. This theme showcased an array of pretty colors and left the viewers feeling as if they had been transported back to the 60’s and 70’s.There were an assortment of vibrant shades of pink, red, and yellows. Behati Prinsloo was the first model to step out onto the runway in her LOVE inspired look, looking as gorgeous as ever and setting a great vibe for the rest of the show.
The Weeknd then took the stage as the first performer, performing his hit song In the Night while the angels took the runway in a theme called Portrait of an Angel. Portrait of an Angel had a very Victorian and elegant feel to it. There were a lot of dark blues and grey’s, feathers and puffy sleeves.
Ellie Goulding was second to perform, performing her song Army while the angels graced the runway a theme called Exotic Butterflies. Bright colors and patterns were shown all throughout this segment. The majority of the models looks showed off long accent pieces that they could swing around when they got to the end of the runway while also trading their angel wings for butterfly wings.
Third to perform was Selena Gomez. Selena sang her jams Hands to Myself and Me and my Girls while the angels showcased the theme PINK USA. This theme was inspired by the All-American Girl, meaning the designers got creative with jazzing up everything from occupations to hobbies. The crowd favorites? The All-American cowgirl, firefighter and cop!
Next, Ellie Goulding came back out to the runway to perform her smash Love Me Like You Do while the angels managed to keep it hot in their icy theme, Ice Angels. Covered in white and silver from head to toe, the angels let their inner ice princess out as they glided down the runway.
For the finale, the designers decided to end the show with a bang and what better way to do that than with fireworks? The Weeknd came back out to close the show with with his smash hit I Can’t Feel My Face while the models danced around him sporting bright bursts of colors that made them look like the firworks they are.
To start the finale, it was only proper to have Lily Aldridge be the first one to come out as she was sporting this year’s fantasy bra! The fantasy bra (and the model who’s chosen to wear it) is one of the most important parts of the show. Each year, a new fantasy bra is released and leading up to the show, the mulit-million dollar piece of lingerie is heavily guarded to be sure it is kept safe and under wraps until the show. The intricate bra is usually embellished with thousands of small jewels and diamonds made to fit one model and one model only and Aldrige was granted the lucky opportunity to wear this years firework themed bra!
Overall the show was fantastic and Victoria Secret did not disappoint. For me, personally, I had too many favorite looks to narrow down my favorite moment. Although I couldn’t pick a favorite look or a favorite theme, I did get to see my favorite angel – Jasmine Tookes – slay the runway like she always does. She did not disappoint and she reminded me, once again, why she is one of my favorite people. We may not all look like Victoria Secret models, but that doesn’t mean we all can’t be flirty and sexy like them because deep down we’re all angels.
