With long dark hair and crystal blue eyes, Christina’s looks aren’t the only thing that will catch your attention. Her voice is strong enough to rock the Casbah! Christina is an aspiring singer and this Montclair State senior will do anything until she becomes the next Christina Aguilera.
Christina Marie Caronna, an Italian from Brooklyn, has been singing since she was a little girl. “I started singing as soon as I was able to speak,” she says. Because her mother, Dawn, is a singer who has previously recorded an album, Christina has been around and loved music all her life. Christina hopes to live up to her mother’s success – recording an album and doing all that she can to be a part of the music industry.
She’s off to a great start, too! She recently opened up for the reggae singer/songwriter Iyaz in Atlantic City at the Casbah. She says it was one of the coolest things she’s ever done as she loves singing to large crowds. She explains that the energy is so empowering. It makes her feel on top of the world. Christina has also worked with Emmy award winning writers and producers.
When asked to describe herself in three words, Christina chose fun, free-spirited, and loving. Christina is all three of these things and more. She is very caring and always knows how to make someone laugh. Her hobbies include dancing, singing, and shopping. Her favorite movie is a typical chick flick – The Notebook. She also loves watching the comical show FRIENDS whenever reruns are shown on TV. She enjoys spending time with her best friends at home whether it’s a night out on the town or a chill night drinking wine and catching up. Her motto is to never regret anything because mistakes are our best teachers.
Being the oldest of two sisters, Christina is very family oriented. Her biggest inspirations are her mother and her grandmother. They all enjoy spending time with each other whether it’s going out to eat or hanging out at home.
Being a Public Health major here at Montclair, Christina is hoping to work in pharmaceutical sales if her music career takes a wrong turn. In the meantime, Christina is shooting a music video and releasing a new single late May! Be sure to look out for it!
