It appears that Halloween passed by in the blink of an eye. For many
people, this means that they can now focus on the most important time of
year: the holiday season. One of the best things about the holiday
season is decorating. It’s when the crafty can whip out their
supplies, although the not-so-crafty can give it a try as well. These
holiday decor ideas are simple enough for any level of crafting
experience.
1. Santa Advent Calendar
If you are anything like me, you love to count down the days leading up
to Christmas. This super cute Santa Advent Calendar helps you do that.
All you have to do is download the calendar and print it. To make the
beard, you simply glue on a cotton ball as the days go on. This cute
calendar can hang at home or in your dorm. You can find the free download
here: http://www.tomfo.com/diy-free-santa-christmas-countdown-advent-calendar
2. Spray Painted Ornaments
Looking for a way to revamp your old ornaments? Interested in a
frosty, ombre look? If you answered yes to both questions, then this
is the craft for you. All you will need are ornaments, a cup for it to
sit on while you work, and spray paint. It’s a great way to decorate
old ornaments, while giving them a frosted-looking finish that screams
winter. You can follow the tutorial found here:

3. Crystal Menorah
Never fear! There are crafts for those who celebrate Hanukkah too. This
menorah is made using some re-purposed crystal salt shakers. To make
the menorah blue, as shown in the picture, add some water, as well as
some blue food coloring. They suggest using a vintage tray to hold the
shakers in. This adds to the vintage charm as well as catching any
melted wax.

4. Ornament Wreath
One classic holiday decoration is the wreath. This one is made with blue
and silver ornaments. The ornaments were strung along a wire hanger. I
prefer gluing them onto a foam wreath, which can be easily found at
the craft store. Include a variety of sizes for a unique dimension.

5. Kwanzaa Kinara
Another celebration of the holiday season is Kwanzaa. Similar to the
crystal menorah, this kinara is made by re-purposing some small glass
jars. You will also need: a wooden plank, some spray paint, and hot
glue. This will make simple and colorful centerpiece for the table
this upcoming Kwanzaa.

6. Tissue Paper Pompoms
One of the great things about decorating is that your decorations do not need to
be incredibly pricey to look nice. Such is the case with these
pompoms. All you need is, well, tissue paper. You will also need some
floral wire, and the ability to fold paper. The great part about this craft is that
they can be made in a number of sizes and colors.

7. Berry Branches in Bottles
If you don’t celebrate any of the holidays listed above, there are still some
ways to add winter charm into your decor. One really easy way is to
decorate with cranberries. These cranberry branches were placed in
re-purposed beer bottles, though any bottle will do. You can find
artificial cranberry branches at most craft stores.
