6 New Accessories You Need to Add to Your Closet This Spring

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Montclair chapter.

Now that it’s officially Spring, (hello, April!) we finally have a good excuse to go shopping again. The start of a new season is the perfect time to refresh your closet with both classic wardrobe staples and new statement pieces.

Be sure to give your closet a thorough spring cleaning before you head to the mall (for those of us who still shop in stores.) You should also move most of your sweats and hoodies to the back of your closet because you won’t be needing them as much anymore.

Now, it’s time to start shopping: here’s what you need to add to your closet this Spring!

Handbag: Kate Spade Hayes Street Isobel/Small Isobel

This new Kate Spade satchel comes in two different sizes: a full size and a smaller version. Both options come in black, as well as spring colors like saffron, warm cognac (pictured) and warm guava. The boxy handbag features a shoulder strap, middle zipper pocket and adorable tassels. It’s perfect to take on all of your adventures this spring and summer!

*Bonus Tip* Sign up for the Kate Spade email list and you’ll always get coupon codes!

Nude Sneakers: Steve Madden Zaander Slip-On

A good, reliable pair of fashion sneakers have the ability to pull any outfit together. This spring, try a nude or tan color instead of your usual black or white. This pair of Steve Madden sneakers can be worn with dresses, jeans, and just about anything else. They’re comfortable without sacrificing style.

Sunglasses: Francesca’s Futura Brow Bar Round Sunglasses

Sunglasses are a must for sunny days (especially for when you’re trying to block out the haters, right?) Make sure to grab a new pair because last year’s always somehow go missing. Francesca’s offers SO many different styles; everything from aviators and cat eyes to statement sunglasses. At only $14-$16 each, you can get multiple pairs for all of your different moods!

Anklet: Express Three Row Beaded Tassel Anklet

Have you ever seen a cuter boho anklet? Me neither. This anklet has three rows of beads and tassels hanging from it, and it will look adorable paired with everything from cut-off ankle jeans to a t-shirt dress. You’ll never get bored of this gem. It can spice up an otherwise boring outfit and turn it into the perfect Spring outfit.

Baseball Cap: Francesca’s Ebony Floral Perforated Suede Baseball Cap

A cute baseball cap is all you need to save you from those inevitable bad hair days and Francesca’s carries so many different options. The perforated floral hat is definitely my favorite, but there’s also a bunch with cute sayings on them. They even one that says “bad hair day” on it because there’s no point in hiding the reason you’re wearing a hat!

Watch: Kate Spade Orange Flower Metro Watch

Instead of constantly checking your phone to see what time it is, you need to get a stylish watch like this one from Kate Spade. The beige and rose gold colors are perfect for spring because they are still neutral without being as harsh as black. The orange blossom detail on the face is absolutely gorgeous, but that’s expected because all of the Kate Spade watches are fun and feminine. It makes you want to look at the time constantly!

There’s nothing worse than realizing you haven’t bought anything new for the beginning of a new season and with these accessories, you can’t go wrong, so be sure to try them all!
