Send a thank you: You just had the opportunity of a lifetime. It’s not easy getting an internship, and it takes a lot for the employer to trust the intern they hired. If your internship was paid then they even put you on their payroll. A simple thank you card goes a long way and does more justice than an email or phone call.
Stay connected: Add the people you met on LinkedIn and stay connected with the network of people you met. They can be good references and a good network for when you are looking for more jobs or internships.
Update your resume: An internship looks a lot better on your resume than a retail job. Be proud of what you accomplish at the internship and provide details of what you did on a day-to-day basis. Real world experience in a job field could land you a real-world job!
Think about if it was worth it: Process everything you that you did and learned and reflect on if this is something that you want to do when you are graduated. If not, try and incorporate these things into a resume for another internship or job.
And remember every opportunity is important and worth it
