If you’re not listening to music or walking with a friend to class, what are you doing?
Thinking… but not just thinking, you’re thinking of the most random things.
Walking to class in the winter, you tend to think about things like, “why did my parents decide to raise me in a state that is so cold?”
Another weather dependent thought would be, “If a tornado touched down on campus, where would I go?”
Walking from the Free Lot you think, “Wow, why didn’t I buy a closer parking pass?”
If you’re into movies or music, you think, “what would this movie be with a different actor?” or “what if a different artist sang that song?”
If you’re walking with or against a crowd of people you might think, “I wonder what those people are thinking about or if they are thinking about me and what I’m are thinking about.”
Or maybe you’re thinking even deeper about the people are you, some thoughts may be “where are they going? What’s their major? What’s their personal story? What do they stand for?”
If it’s Friday and you just got paid, you may think “what online shopping can I do in class?” or “what bills do I have to pay?”
If you are a planner, you think about what you have the next day, weekend or month.
Or you forgot to eat breakfast or lunch and you think about what you are going to make or where you are going to eat next.
