This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mizzou chapter.
  1. When Kanye announced his fashion show in the last minute:

Kanye West knows how to stir up trouble and get attention of the media. His last minute fashion show offended many designers who set dates for their shows months ahead. In case you didn’t make the A-list of celebrities attending his show, Yeezy Season 2 was also live-streamed. To make things even better, Kanye also debuted his new song “Fade.” With all of the attention this show got, the actual clothes didn’t make the headlines. Maybe because it’s was pretty much the same collection, but in beige?

2. When NYFW featured a model with down syndrome:

Madeline Stuart walked down the podium in a beautiful ball gown and we all cheered. Stuart is the first professional model with Down Syndrome. She has a huge social media following and she constantly reminds the fashion industry that every women is beautiful. No matter what your race, body type, or background, you are worthy of walking down that runway!

3. When Lauren Conrad debuted her collection from Kohl’s:

The ever-adored Lauren Conrad presented her first collection for Kohl’s at NYFW, and it’s everything we ever hoped it would be. Pastel colors, soft silhouettes and so much lace. The collection is so girly and romantic, so make sure to check out Kohl’s and grab your favorite pieces! The front row of the show included Ashley Tisdale and one of our favorites, Chrissy Tiegen.

4. When Givenchy presented its first show in New York:

Ricardo Tisci brought Givenchy from Paris to New York for the first time to celebrate the opening of its Manhattan store. What was unorthodox about his show was that Givenchy gave tickets out to the general public! As usual, Givenchy’s show was absolutely stunning: lace, silk, feathers combined to create unbelievable silhouettes.
