This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mizzou chapter.

After a long night out, there’s nothing more relaxing than sleeping in on a Sunday morning. Thanks to the abundance of brunch spots in CoMo, you can roll out of bed at 11 a.m. and still get your classic American breakfast. Check out our favorite places below.

Located in a small building on 4th St, the Broadway Diner is one of the hidden gems of Columbia. It’s a favorite among college students, partly because of their hours. Open seven days a week from 11 p.m. to 2 p.m., the Broadway Diner serves up greasy comfort food for all of your late night or afternoon cravings. They’re famous for “The Stretch,” a tiered dish of hash browns, scrambled eggs, chili, cheddar cheese, peppers and onions. Yes, please.

2. Ernie’s Cafe and Steakhouse: For the classic diner experience

Ernie’s Cafe and Steakhouse is one of Columbia’s oldest restaurants. Founded by Ernie Lewis in 1934, the restaurant has been dishing up American classics for over 80 years. The inside of the cafe has a 50s diner vibe, featuring checkered floors, metal tables and red bar stools. The cafe also has outside patio seating open from spring to fall. The prices are cheap, and the portions are huge. Win!

3. Sophia’s: For the European-style brunch

Address: 3915 S Providence Rd.

Brunch hours: 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.

Menu: http://www.sophiascomo.com/sunday

If you’re tired of the typical brunch fare, Sophia’s is the place to go. Their Sunday brunch focuses mainly on Italian and Mediterranean-inspired dishes such as tiramisu french toast, smoked chicken empanadas and basil asiago breakfast steak. It’s a bit pricey, but the wait is usually less than downtown restaurants.

4. Bleu: For the buffet-style brunch

Address: 811 E Walnut St.

Brunch hours: 10 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.

Menu: http://bleucolumbia.com/bleurestaurant/menucategories/sunday-brunch/

Unlimited food? How does one say no to that? Bleu’s Sunday brunch is an all-inclusive buffet, featuring a salad bar, an omelette station, various meats, breakfast enchiladas, assorted pastries and more. It costs $15.95 for adults, so go ahead and get seconds… or thirds… or fourths. Who’s counting?

5. Main Squeeze: For the hungover vegan

Address: 28 S 9th St.

Brunch hours: 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.

Menu: http://www.main-squeeze.com/menu-alt-1/

Main Squeeze is adored by many local plant-based eaters. The restaurant has an entirely vegetarian menu that is over 80 percent organic, and any item can be made vegan upon request. The brunch menu includes smoothies and juices, rancheros, breakfast sandwiches, granola parfaits and typical the breakfast fare of eggs, toast and potatoes. Main Squeeze refrains from using a microwave or a deep fryer, and they compost all of their food waste, so you can feel good about what you’re eating- even if you don’t feel so good about your latest night out.

6. Cafe Berlin: The town favorite

Address: 220 N 10th St.

Brunch hours: 8 a.m.- 2 p.m.

Menu: http://www.cafeberlincomo.com/brunch-menu/

Cafe Berlin is considered the king of brunch in Columbia. Lines out the door are the norm on Saturdays and Sundays, and with good reason. The cafe features a plethora of inventive dishes, often combining multiple foods into one delicious item. Cafe Berlin uses mostly organic products and incorporates many locally sourced items into their dishes. They have options for every type of diet, including vegans, vegetarians and gluten-intolerant. With such delicious food, the cafe is always packed for brunch, so get there early.
