Affordable Celebrity Fashion Collections

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mizzou chapter.

We all want to dress like our favorite celebs. But as collegiettes, let’s face it: We don’t have the money to spend. Now celebrities are teaming up with big-name companies to bring their fans the latest and greatest in fashion trends. We’ve included our favorite affordable designers below to help you search for a fun and inexpensive new look!

1. Kardashian Kollection at Sears
Three fashion-forward sisters are behind the name of this collection; how can it not be trendy? Khloe, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian are all about giving back to their fans. The key to the success of this line is its affordability. Not only is it within a collegiette’s budget, but it also caters to all shapes and sizes. The Kardashians put together their favorite looks in apparel, accessories and intimates. With a little help from Sears, you can dress like a Kardashian too!

2. LC Lauren Conrad at Kohl’s
This collection is all about being sweet and sophisticated. Lauren does a great job creating casual and dressy pieces that will help you complete a look for any occasion. Lauren first became famous on the hit reality series The Hills, in which she scored an internship with Teen Vogue. She definitely learned from the best and continues to bring us the best in fashion. When you’re looking for her collection at Kohl’s, head to the women’s section. This is the perfect location because you won’t have your little sister wearing the same thing, but you know your mom won’t wear it either because it is catered toward 20 to 28-year-olds.

3. Jessica Simpson at Nordstrom
I am nicknaming this collection “the one that has it all.” Jessica’s collection has a variety of options, from shoes to apparel to fragrances. If you are looking for an outfit for a night out with the ladies, a first date or even a casual Saturday shopping excursion, Jessica’s collection has it. Her clothes are also the perfect transition pieces for young adults. The collection is not only sold at Nordstrom, but you can also find it at Macy’s, Dillard’s, Lord and Taylor, Von Maur, Belk and Boscov’s. How’s that for convenient?

4. Material Girl by Madonna at Macy’s
If you haven’t learned already, Madonna knows what the crowd wants. Material Girl is brilliant and truly caters to the collegiette. You’re sure to be in vogue with the bright colors and playful patterns. Do as Madonna says and “express yourself” by mixing and matching. Some of the cutest pieces are only $8.99. Can you say deal? Once again, Madonna scores with the material girl in mind!

5. Dream Out Loud by Selena Gomez
The Dream Out Loud collection is by everyone’s favorite wizard all-grown-up. This line has a younger vibe to it but is all about being cute and casual. It is especially perfect for the summer months, and it can’t get any more affordable! Selena does a great job at keeping Dream Out Loud looking fun and fresh every season. I suggest this line if you want something that will keep you comfy and leave you with some spare change.

6. Nicole by Nicole Miller at JC Penney
Nicole Miller designs for the sophisticated woman with a feminine touch. The fashion designer is originally from New York and continues to create high-fashion pieces for her celebrity clientele. Nicole never fails to impress with her elements of surprise and whimsy by incorporating prints and color. She partnered with JC Penney to reach a broader range of women, who can enjoy her pieces just as much as our favorite leading ladies Angelina Jolie, Leighton Meester and Eva Longoria do.

Lindsay Roseman is a senior at the University of Missouri, studying magazine journalism and Spanish. In Columbia, she is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta women's fraternity, Mizzou For Malawi Steering Committee, and can be spotted on campus touring potential Journalism School-ers. This Chicago native loves a good Jodi Picoult book, trying new foods, traveling, and hitting the pavement for a run. After reporting for the school newspaper and interning in her hometown, she spent the summer in NYC at Women's Health Magazine and now is so excited for a great year with HC Mizzou!
