If you’ve made it this far through the semester, you definitely deserve a fun-filled Spring Break to get your mind off classes for a little while. Some collegiettes are choosing to take a relaxing vacation during their break, while others are heading to popular “Spring Break Spots” for a crazy week of de-stressing on the beach. As a seasoned “Spring Break Trip” veteran, I have a few suggestions for things you might want to include in your suitcase.

Chapstick with SPF Packing sunblock is a no-brainer, but don’t forget to protect your lips! You’ll most likely be in the sun for hours when it’s at its brightest and strongest, so everything that can get burned will if you don’t take precaution.

Fanny pack A purse is the last thing you want to worry about when you’re running around on the beach, and if you’re in your swimsuit, you don’t want to worry about having your phone in your hand the entire time. Check out Tilly’s for plenty of cute but affordable options.

Comfortable clothes If there’s one thing that I (surprisingly) didn’t pack enough of last year, it’s lounging clothes. Chances are you won’t feel like doing laundry over break, and you’ll want something comfortable and clean to sleep in or just to hang out in when you come back from the beach and before you head out at night.

Alka-Seltzer®  You might want to pack a few of these, available at Target, for those mornings when you’ve had a little too much fun the night before and aren’t feeling 100%. Make sure you avoid taking painkillers that contain acetaminophen, such as Tylenol®, when you’ve been drinking, or you’ll end up causing extra damage to your liver.

Moisturizing lotion How are people supposed to know you went somewhere for Spring Break if you don’t come back with a tan? Lather up after every shower to preserve your darker glow.

Aloe vera gel In the event that you (or maybe your friend who forgot to put on sunblock) do get burned, you’re going to want to have this on hand. Pick up some from Walgreens that doesn’t have alcohol in it.

Baseball cap or bucket hat So your hair probably isn’t going to look amazing every single day, plus all that wind at the beach isn’t going to help. Have a cute hat or two on hand for lazy hair days, or even just to protect your pretty face from the sun.

Concert tickets Many spring break spots host concerts during popular break weeks, and you might not have a printer at wherever you’re staying. Print your tickets out beforehand and keep them somewhere you’ll remember.

Once you have all of these and all your other necessities packed up, you’ll be ready to go. Have fun and be safe, collegiettes!
