The Winter Visual and Performing Arts Center Dedication Ceremony

The Grand Opening of the WVPAC was held on Friday, October 12. The ceremony began with remarks from Ms. Laura Kendall, Director of the WVPAC, Dr. Vilas Prabhu, Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Diane Umble, Interim Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Paula Batdorf, Music Education major, Mr. Stephen Kepchar, the Chair of the Capital Campaign, Mr. Gregory Lefever, Chair of the Fundraising Committee for the WVPAC, and Dr. Francine McNairy, President of Millersville University.  There was also a ribbon cutting followed by a performance by the Marauder Men’s Glee Club, who sang “O, Millersville We Sing Thy Praises,” which was written by Dr. Mark A. Boyle for this occasion.

Joie Formando is an English major at Millersville University, with a concentration in Writing Studies and a minor in journalism and music. She loves to write and cook (which is a work in progress) and is looking forward to "becoming a grown-up" post-graduation! She is the Arts and Culture Editor of MU's newspaper, The Snapper, and an active photographer-in-training. She can play a few chords on the guitar (but you'll never catch her singing for anyone) and her biggest dream is to move to London and work for a children's book publishing company.
