How to Keep Yourself From Dying By the End of the Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Millersville chapter.

So it is the end of the semster and you are probably feeling a little tense, kinda stressed, exhausted and extremely overwhelmed. Your desk is covered with notebooks, pens, half started projects, food wrappers and left over coffee cups from last night/this morning.

Despite all of the work that you have left to do all you can think about is sleep, summer vacation, sleep, laying in the warm sand on the beach, sleep, graduating, how you are going to fit all of your belongings back into your car to take home for break and more sleep.

Here are some tips that you can do to keep yourself from feeling like dying from the last two weeks of the semester and finals.

1. Make a list

If you make a list, it helps you to visualize everything that you need to do before the semester ends. When you finish something, you can cross it off and actually feel productive.

2. Make realistic goals

We all know that you are not going to finish that 10 page paper, make a presentation and read two chapters all within one night. Instead, just finish that paper.

3. Give yourself deadlines

By making deadlines, you can create priorities and make and number your list so you know what needs to be finished each night.

4. Reward yourself

If you know you have a party you want to go to on Saturday night then tell yourself, “If I finish this project and write two pages of the paper by Friday night then I can go to the party on Saturday.”

5. Remember to get sleep

You CANNOT function without sleep and you WILL do poorly on a final if you got little sleep the night before.

Always remember that life will go on. The world is not going to end just because you did not make Dean’s list, because you failed an exam or showed up to work late. Life will go on and you will look back and laugh at that unfortunate time in your life.
