The Four Greatest TV Shows You’ve Probably Never SeenBy October 5, 2012 - 11:00pm I am often asked what I think are the greatest television series of all time. It is very difficult to answer this question because I know that many people have never seen the shows I would mention to them. For this reason I am reluctant to answer. Below I have compiled a list of four of the greatest TV shows of all time that the vast majority of people have never seen in an effort to spread their greatness and significance. Each of the series I have mentioned below contribute to or have contributed to television in their own right. I have expressed my opinion and given a brief overview of the series without divulging any spoilers. READ MORE |

How I Met Your Mother Episode 8.2 – “The Pre-nup” RecapBy October 2, 2012 - 11:10am Last night’s episode of “How I Met Your Mother” was essentially the story of how Barney and Quinn broke up. The episode began with Older Ted explaining that the summer of 2012 was deemed the “Summer of Love” because everyone was in love. Barney and Quinn were together, Ted and Victoria were together, Robyn and Nick were together and of course Marshall and Lilly were together. Ted skips to October 2012 because he says that since they were all happy, there was nothing to talk about. READ MORE |

How I Met Your Mother season premiere recapBy September 26, 2012 - 10:31am How I Met Your Mother has been teasing its audience with (not) finding out who “the mother” is for 7 seasons. The season 8 premiere was no exception. The episode begins with Ted sitting at a train station in Farhampton in his tuxedo (presumably from Robyn and Barney’s wedding) reading a book. We get no explanation for why he is at this train station or where he is going. A lady sits next to him and says, “You look like you just came from a wedding.” This prompts Ted to tell the story of how he got there. The episode flashes back to Robyn talking to Ted on her wedding day. She says, “I can’t go through with this wedding.” This then begins another flashback. This flashback picks up exactly where the flashback from the season 7 finale ended.... |

Freshman 15 vs. Calorie Counting AppsBy September 20, 2012 - 5:05pm If you don’t want to admit it, then I’ll admit it for you: you gained weight your freshman year. And trust me, you’re not alone. All those people who warned you the summer before your freshman year of the dangers of snacking late at night and drinking every weekend were right. And if all of that is true, you probably went home for the summer and worked all of that weight off by eating real food (not Chartwells) and falling asleep at decent times. But are you worried about keeping that weight off and staying in shape? Again, you’re not alone! READ MORE |

Coachella Takes the OceanBy September 13, 2012 - 4:08pm Unless you’re a California native, Coachella is probably still on your bucket list of things you need to experience before you die. This year, the idea to have a holographic Tupac was pretty insane, but then Coachella pulled something even more unexpected: the S.S. Coachella. Just imagine seeing the biggest up-and-coming groups and bands while on board a cruise ship. There are two excursions, one being a 3-day trip to the Bahamas, and the other is a 4-day trip to Jamaica. Both are in December, so treat yourself to an early holiday present and a post-finals treat. READ MORE |

Miami Loves Skinny GirlBy September 5, 2012 - 11:28am Living in Miami and staying fit for year-round bikini season gets pretty tough once alcohol is thrown into the mix, especially as a college student. But Skinnygirl cocktails completely turned that around for the self-conscious girls who still want to go out and have a good time. Skinnygirl was started by Bethenny Frankel (no, we’re not related) who used to be on the Bravo series “The Real Housewives of New York.” READ MORE |

Need New Summer Recipes? You Won’t Get them From Charty’sBy May 1, 2012 - 8:00am One of the best things about going home for break is eating home cooked meals again, instead of Charty’s mystery meat. Going without a kitchen has really made me appreciate cooking, and even though I’m not an expert chef, I know I’ll be whipping up as much fresh food as possible. The recipes I’ve found are super easy, and are perfect for barbeques, pool parties, and even to bring along to the beach. So get your grocery list out, because these summer treats will be just what you need after a long school year. READ MORE |

Top 5 Snacks to Indulge in While Cramming for FinalsBy May 1, 2012 - 8:00am If you don’t have plans to pull at least one all-nighter during reading days, you’re either a super genius or a freshman with ridiculously easy classes. For the rest of us college students, staying up late and cramming our brains with as much knowledge as possible takes up a lot of energy. And when we push our bodies that hard, we get hungry; really hungry. Once Starbucks closes, the idea of the pizza trucks or Ben and Jerrys ice cream may seem like the only reasonable option to munch on that late at night. But you know you’re going to regret it in the morning, and that shouldn’t be one of your concerns with all the other stress during finals week. Instead, try one of these 5 snacks that will keep your stomach full, happy, and healthy. ... |
