Every holiday season, I love to get into the Christmas spirit by doing fun winter activities. There are so many special events, especially on college campuses, that are tons of fun for you and your friends. Whether you stay in or go out, there is plenty to do this Christmas season to get you and your friends in the festive spirit.
1. Ice Skating
This one is something that a lot of people do when the weather gets cold, but it is so much fun. Everyone can do it, or can learn how, and it is something to go out and do on a weekend. It is relatively inexpensive to do, and everyone will love it.
2. Christmas Movie Night
If you are looking to stay in, then having a Christmas movie marathon is the way to go. Hanging lights and getting a bunch of blankets and pillows will make it feel even cozier and festive. Grab some hot chocolate, popcorn, and your favorite Christmas movies, and you have a perfect holiday movie night.
3. Christmas Light Drive
Going for a drive in your car to go see peoples’ Christmas lights and house decorations is one of my favorite things to do in December. It makes me so happy to see all of the houses lit up. You can even make it a game with your friends by judging and deciding which house won the best lights award. There are also places, like the zoo, that do light displays that you can go see. No matter what you do, seeing Christmas lights is one of the best parts about the holidays.
4. Christmas Cookie Decorating
I love baking all year around, but making Christmas cookies is one of my favorite things to do. Each cookie can look different because you can decorate each one differently. It may cause a huge mess and takes a lot of time, but it is completely worth it after. You have a bunch of cookies for you, your friends, and your family, and you had a fun night of preparing for Christmas.
5. Caroling Karaoke
Grab your friends, make a Christmas playlist, and have a Christmas carol karaoke party. Sining Christmas songs is one of the best ways to get you in the holiday spirit and this is a great excuse to get all of your friends together. If you are feeling especially brave, you can go knock on your neighbors’ doors and sing Christmas carols for them.
