The holiday season is always tons of fun, especially when you are able to spend it with your friends. From ice skating to hot chocolate and Christmas movies, the December is packed with lots of different activities to get you in the holiday spirit. With Christmas comes gift giving, which can cause your bank account to take a major hit. However, it does not have to be this way. There are plenty of gifts that you can give your friends this holiday season that they will love and won’t leave you broke in January.
1. Books
Most people love sitting down with a good book in winter, since there is not much else to do outside. Books are relatively inexpensive, and it shows friends that you put thought into what you think they would like. Some of my favorites are Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick or Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon.
2. Hot Cocoa and a Mug
Hot Cocoa is the perfect winter treat, so why not give your friends some for Christmas? There are cute holiday themed mugs at Target, and you can buy a pack of hot chocolate and split it between all of the mugs. Your friends will love it and it is inexpensive and easy for you.
3. Stationary
This one may not be a hit with your guy friends, but me and my girl friends love cute notebooks and pens. Notebooks are inexpensive and little ones are even less expensive. Then, you can buy a pack of fun pens and split them between your friends. It’s thoughtful and will give them a new notebook for next semester.
4. Nail Care Kit
Nail Polish comes in so many different colors that you are guaranteed to find each of your friends’ favorite colors. A bottle of nail polish, a nail file, and a nail buffer will get you out of the store in under ten dollars, and you will get major credit with your friend for adding to their nail polish collection.
5. Water Bottles
Water bottles may be on the higher end of your budget, but if you can find a coupon or sale, this is a great gift. You can get this for guys or girls because it is something that everyone will use. You can customize it by getting peoples’ favorite colors and they will think of you every time they are running on the treadmill.
6. Socks
This sounds kind of lame, but my friends and I love fun socks. Socks with fun prints and colors are super cute and you can get each friend a different pair. You can get regular, athletic, or fuzzy socks, but any way, your friends will love it.
7. Coloring Books
Adult coloring books are a huge trend right now, and they are a great stress reliever. You can buy them anywhere and there a lot that are under ten dollars. They are a unique and thoughtful gift.
