Awareness Week: Eating Disorders

Beginning this past Sunday, National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) has launched its annual National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, where the organization sheds light on an issue that is more widespread than Alzhiemer’s disease.  People between the ages of 12 and 25 represent 90% of those afflicted with some sort of eating disorder, making this a significant issue amongst younger people.  At the mere age of six, little girls already exhibit signs of body issues, and, of course, this only grows with time.  College and its accompanying stressors merely add fuel to the fire in an issue rooted in a student’s sense of control. The "V" day. As a single woman, I know that Valentine's Day can be overrated and not fun when all the stores like Walmart and Target have a whole isle dedicated to lovers. Well every Valentine's Day I like to make myself feel special by pampering myself with purchasing presents, watching movies, and having a mini-makeover. I like to spruce things up so I know I am special without a significant other. So what should you do for Valentine's Day if you are single? I have a few suggestions: 1. Make a change.
You can either go shopping to alter your wardrobe, do some kind of community service, or even play a prank on a couple (nothing too harsh). It is a day where you can change something about your normal routine of life and spice things up....
