Summer is when the supposedly “sleeping” Movie Giant wakes up after the great winter lull to shock and entertain the masses of students, children, and adults who have too much free time to know what to do with. And from what I can tell, the Movie Giant has returned from hibernation with a vengeance, with so many movies coming out this summer that it’s almost overwhelming. But fear not! Warner Robins, GA 31093 “College Day Sunday” is an initiative to increase college awareness among nontraditional and underrepresented students. The event will include college and financial aid information sessions, college trivia, kids’ games, a basketball shootout, and singing competition. Hello dear readers, whoever you are! One of the great things about the Internet is that it serves as a mask and helps eliminate inhibitions and therefore encourage self-disclosure, which is exactly what I’m going to do today. You might know me, and you might not. Either way, it’s about to get personal.             Twelve months ago, I ended my first year here at Mercer. I had just been through a breakup, I was a newly initiated sister of a sorority on campus, and I had the great luck of figuring out exactly what I want to do for the rest of my life. In a lot of ways, I was feeling good. Freshman year had imparted on me this golden halo of confidence, like I could do no wrong, and the world was mine for the taking....

Personally, I know I’m extremely excited for a summer full of relaxation and mental rehabilitation (I plan to take at least a week of doing nothing but watching television, reading, and eating tons of junk food).
