Year after year, women and men across the world do one of two things on Valentine’s Day: either they hope that the person they love will finally confess their feelings for them, or they plan to have a day full of love and chocolates with their soulmate. For some women, Valentine’s Day is actually not the holiday we look forward to in February. Galentine’s Day, which falls perfectly on February 13th, is our version of showing love, especially to our girlfriends who support us and build us up. Like Carrie Bradshaw said, “Maybe our girlfriends are our soulmates and guys are just people to have fun with.” It’s a holiday for us girls to celebrate each other because friendships are forever!

  • Pamper Session: Start the day on the right foot by getting well deserved mani/pedis, blowouts and facials. Looking your best will just make sure all of you feel like the goddesses you are.

  • Shopping Spree – Next, take your party to the mall and shop your heart out. Buy that perfect outfit for actual Valentine’s Day if you have plans, or for the crazy night out you all have planned for Galantine’s day! Sparkles should definitely be involved in my opinion.

  • Get ready together with the perfect jam session – The best part about any night out with your best friends is the part before you actually go out. Deciding what to wear, doing your makeup and just having fun together is sometimes even better than the actual night out. Regardless of what your plans are, dress for the occasion, whether you’re having a girl’s night in or a night out.

There are so many options for the evening!!!

  • A potluck dinner with everyone’s favourite dishes.
  • Watch the best chick-flicks
  • Have a slumber party with cute pajamas, a makeover session and maybe even a classic pillow fight. This should definitely involve pizzas, popcorn and some ice cream!
  • Put on your dancing shoes and go on a bar crawl. There’s nothing better than having a night out with your best girlfriends without a care in the world.

Our girlfriends truly are our soulmates; they understand us better than we understand ourselves sometimes. Valentine’s Day is about that significant other, someone who honestly comes and goes, but our girlfriends have been there through thick and thin which makes celebrating them that much better for Galentine’s day.

Happy Galentine’s day everyone!
