Without further ado, Her Campus McGill would like to introduce this week’s campus cutie, Ben Aloi: a U0 international development major with a desire to travel and a guilty pleasure for Ariana Grande’s music. Keep reading to learn more about Ben!

Name: Ben Aloi

Age: 19

Faculty/Major/Year: Arts, International Development with a minor in Political Science, U0

Hometown: Burlington, NJ

Favourite McGill Memory so far: Any night just hanging out at Bifteck with my friends.

Favourite place in Montreal: Le Plateau

Favourite place to study: Java U Café

The top items on your bucket list: Travel to every country in the world, work for the UN, and write a book.

Describe your perfect date: Honestly, just anything with my girlfriend.

Favourite TV show/movie and why: Pulp Fiction. Every scene is memorable in some way, and Tarantino just has this incredible ability to create an entirely new—almost satirical—reality where his iconic characters engage in philosophical discussions against a violent, nihilistic society.

If you could have dinner with any person, living or dead who would it be and why? Nelson Mandela. He’s one of the rare people in human history who never allowed his idealism to be compromised by the harsh world around him. He devoted his entire life to the achievement of this ideal—even when it seemed certain that he would never experience it within his lifetime—and he did this not for personal political gain, but for the betterment of all South Africans.

Biggest Pet Peeve: Ignorance

Female Celebrity Crush: Irina Shayk

Male Celebrity Crush: Michael Fassbender

Favourite Food/Meal: Sushi

Favourite Cocktail: Missionary’s Downfall from La Distillerie

What’s the best or worst drunk experience of your life? Definitely Igloofest.

Most embarrassing song on your iPod: “Love Me Harder” by Ariana Grande

What would constitute the best day of your life? Exploring a new city without money being an object.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why? Vietnam. I feel it’s a country that kind of gets pushed aside by China, Japan, and other economic giants in the region, but I’m absolutely fascinated by its culture and natural beauty.
