Graduating College Does Not Mean Growing Up

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Marywood chapter.

When I started my college journey I had a very clear picture of what my life was going to look like upon graduation. Well here we are less than 50 days away from gradution and my life couldn’t be any more different than what I imagined three years ago. I figured upon graduation, I would have a full time job lined up and be prepared to tackle life as a full grown adult. In comparison, I am graduating college a year early (which I hadn’t intended to do) with a partial plan and partial idea of what I want to do with the rest of my life. Initially, I was upset that after graduation I didn’t know what would happen. However, I don’t have all of the answers and that’s okay.

Graduating College does not mean you have all of the answers. This is the time to find the answers, find what you are passionate about and more than anything find what makes you happy. Now is the time to choose between being comfortable for the rest of your life and stepping out of your comfort zone and living adventurously.

Some people look at graduation as the end of childhood but I encourage you to think of it as the opportunity to live childishly. You now have the opportunity to live your life however you please. Make the sacrifices you need to in order to achieve your dreams and keep moving forward. Make mistakes, make memories and begin your journey.
