Let’s Get Cooking: 5 Recipes to Inspire a Healthy You

If you’re like me and not super into cooking, that is no excuse to not eat as healthy as you possibly can! Healthy eating is often seen as miserable, exhausting, and time consuming, but it totally doesn’t have to be! It’s completely okay to indulge every once in a while, but a regular diet of healthy foods to keep you fueled and energized is what’s going to help get you through your busy schedule. One of my favorite places to turn to for hair and makeup tutorials is also one of the best platforms to go to when searching for fast and healthy recipes. That place is, you guessed it, YouTube! Below are 5 of my favorite recipes and healthy eating tips of the moment, guaranteed to get you motivated and inspired!

 

1)  100% Natural Banana Pancakes

This recipe, courtesy of Cassey Ho of Blogilates, is one of the easiest breakfast treats to make on the planet. With just two ingredients, this is budget and time-friendly meal, perfect for us college girls. Tip: Make a ton of these ahead of time, portion them, and freeze them. This is a fantastic time saver and makes for no excuses for skipping breakfast!

 

 

2)  DIY Overnight Oats

Overnight oats are currently super trendy when it comes to healthy breakfast food. This easy, filling meal is another crazy fast time saver and perfect for a “grab and go” kind of day. Mason jar oats are awesome because they are totally customizable, making it so you’ll never get bored with the same thing!

 

3)  Healthy Veggie Burgers

I used to say “ick” at the thought of veggie burgers, but in the past couple years, I’ve grown to love them and most of the time prefer them over beef burgers. This recipe takes you step by step on making the perfect veggie burger, great for lunch or dinner if you have a little bit more time!

 

4)  DIY Healthy School and Work Lunch Ideas

This video, made by one of my absolute favorite YouTubers, Nikki Phillippi, has everything from sandwiches, to pizza, to salads, making this a great video to watch when stumped about what to eat on any given day. Her personality makes her videos super entertaining to watch, and I highly recommend that you check out her other food and health related videos as well as her beauty and fashion ones!

 

5)  6 Tips to Help You Drink More Water + Recipes

Okay, so different types of infused water don’t exactly count as “recipes,” but water has zillions of proven health benefits, and basic water can often get super boring. I love this video by another one of my favorite YouTubers, Brittney Paradis with all of her helpful and doable tips and tricks!
