With the holiday season approaching, and Black Friday sales slowly ending many of us have totally forgotten… I need a gift for my boyfriend!!! Most of us can agree that shopping for girlfriends are super easy, but boys are always difficult in everything. What size do I get? Will he like this color? Does he even wear that? Not to worry, here are some great gifts, and advice on shopping for that special guy!
1. Clothing… The easiest and most difficult gift at the same time
Every guy is different in how he dresses, and sizes are always a pain to guess. So don’t guess. I’m sure you can figure out what brands or stores your boyfriend likes, and most of us know our boyfriend’s sense of style. So, start taking notice. Some good gifts for guys are athletic wear. Any sports gear store sells just what your man needs when it comes to clothing. Brands like Adidas, Nike, and Jordan usually fit into any guy’s attire. If you want to try something a little nicer than sporting clothing, stores like Express are always a good choice. They sell nice t-shirts, men’s sweaters, and inexpensive stylish accessories. As for picking a size, either sneak a peek at the size when your man isn’t looking, or causally make a comment about how he looks like he has gotten bigger (or smaller, whichever is a better compliment) and ask what size are you now.
2. Shoes
Shoes are another difficult one to shop for, but boys love their shoes. Whether it’s running shoes for the gym, or nice Jordan sneakers, or maybe even some Chuck’s or Vans. Just like clothing, most of us know our boyfriend’s style. Vans have been jumping off the shelves at stores, being the popular new skate shoe. They are also inexpensive in comparison to other high-end sneakers, and they come in almost every color, and can be worn for almost all occasions. They can be dressed up and down!
3. Concert or sports tickets
This may seem like an expensive gift for a boyfriend, however most guys won’t care where they are sitting in a huge arena, just as long as they are with you. Plus, you are sitting there watching a sport or listening to their kind of music…which he will definitely appreciate! With football and basketball season approaching you can find inexpensive seats, and pair the gifts with a t-shirt of his favorite team, or even some of his favorite snacks to bring to the game! As for concert tickets, Zedd is playing at Echostage December 26th following Hardwell December 27th, The Machine is playing at State Theatre December 28th, Wale is playing at The Fillmore Silver Spring New Year’s Day, Jay-Z is playing at the Verizon Center January 16th, and Justin Moore is playing at the Patriot Center February 2nd! You can look up concert near you or other artists on websites like Ticketmaster or LiveNation, and find tickets in your price range!
4. A Homemade Quilt
Does your boyfriend play a sport? Or have a lot of t-shirts from a club he is into? Or maybe even like a sport’s team? Although, not many of us are seamstresses, but this cute gift idea is sentimental and not as hard as it sounds. Slowly start “borrowing” some of your boyfriend’s t-shirt for said club or sport, for example I’ll say football. Cut each shirt around the same size, and sew each patch together to make a blanket-like shape. You can buy a blanket at the store or fabric from an art store, and sew it to the back of the patches for support!
5. Scrapbook
Scrapbooks are fun to do, and great meaningful gift! Print out some of your favorite pictures of you and your boyfriend at your local pharmacy. Some pharmacies even have apps for your phone so you can send your pictures directly to a store to be printed. Any art store has scrapbooking items to use, and if you have any souvenirs like tickets or brochures from places you have visited together, they’re always an extra bonus to add in!
6. Cologne
We all want our men to smell good, especially since guys are usually not the cleanest! Cologne is easy to find, everywhere. They sell it at pharmacies and your local mall. Some hot smells that many people rave about are Dolce & Cabana light blue for men, Chrome, Giorgio Armani, and YVES Saint Laurent. Most of these can be found discounted at Macy’s or pharmacies around you!
7. Watches
Watches are the new trend for men to wear. Although there are lots of expensive, suave brands, Express sells stylish watches for less than other expensive brands! Watches are a nice gift, and can be worn with anything. They instantly make your guy’s outfit look smarter.
8. Video games
We all know guys are strangely addicted to video games. Game Stop sells everything you need to hook your guy up! If you don’t know much about these games or the type of console he has, buy a gift cards so they can buy “point” or “memberships” online, as well as the newest game out there. As girls, video games are usually not our specialty so don’t feel weird asking someone who works there what to get, and what everything is for! You can also pair some of his favorite snacks with the gift, considering he probably will not be leaving the couch once he opens your gift!
9. Movie
Get your boyfriend’s favorite horror or adventure flick, and suck it up and watch it with him! Or pick out a movie you first saw together! Pair the movie with some popcorn, candy and snacks, and his favorite beverage. If you’re feeling really creative make fake tickets!
10. A homemade CD
Create a mixed CD of “your song,” and other songs that remind you of your beau. Or even a CD with his favorite type of music!
