With 2015’s New York Fashion Week right around the corner, now is the perfect time to alert all our campus fashionistas what to expect for the warmer months that lie ahead. Get ready for some comfort on your feet, likeable throwbacks, bright colors, and style.

Yellow

Experts are calling for brighter colors this season, particularly yellow. It’s a color we have not seen too often in recent years, but nicely complements the other bright ones. The effervescent pinks and oranges are still favored and match well with this sunny color.

Flats

Put away the heels and boots, because flat shoes are in. We’re talking flip-flops, T-strapped sandals, and sneakers. Basically, if it has a flat sole, it’s in style, and simplicity is the key. This is a nice break from heels and the lace-up gladiator sandals from a few seasons back that went all the way up the calf.

One Shoulder Cuts

This is one of, if not the most important spring staple of the year. Shirts and dresses with one shoulder cuts are going to be seen everywhere. The one shoulder cut looks both stylish and comfortable, so expect to see this at Spring Formal. This stylish cut is not to be confused as it is different from the “off the shoulder” look from last spring.

Polo

It’s time to pop that collar, because Polo is back. Polo never really left to begin with, but it’s nice to see one of the most iconic, classic looks being worn again. This look can be found in sporty dresses and nice shirts. Chances are, you already have a few Polo shirts tucked away in the back of your closet.

Dresses with Sleeves

While dresses are always popular, it’s typically challenging to narrow down exactly what kind of style is popular each year. For 2015, experts are calling for dresses with sleeves. Both shirtdresses and sweater dresses come to mind and are expected to be popular. They are the right length to wear with or without leggings, depending on the always changing Spring temperature.
