What made you choose UMD?
The first thing that made me fall in love with this school is the campus. I came here and it was like ‘oh my gosh, this is everything that I could have wanted.’ It was like love at first sight. Also, because it’s academic reputation is really good. There’s also a really great ministry here, which is really important to me.
What is your favorite place on campus?
The balcony of Dorchester Hall. It’s a really great place where I can just relax and play music and connect with other people, pray, things like that. It’s definitely my happy place on campus.
What are you involved with on campus so far?
I’m in Global Communities and I’m involved with Disciples of Christ United, a church down the street on Route 1. I lead worship for the congregation on campus. Hoping to do the badminton club. I’m also working on my solo EP.
What made you decide to lead your own worship on campus?
It really helps people to make a strong connection with each other and with God. I just want to inspire people to live lives that are sacrificial to others and to God. I want to help people grow in their selflessness and investing their lives into loving other people instead of just themselves.
What do you see yourself doing after college?
I know that I definitely want to impact people’s lives; how that desire is going to manifest itself is unclear right now. I might go into the ministry or I might work for a nonprofit. That passion for helping people, I want that to come out in some way.
If you could relive any day of your life so far, what would it be?
In July of 2013, I went on this service trip in Philly and we went to an amusement park and I got to spend some really great time with some friends. It was just a magical night and I got to really connect with a diverse group and have a blast at Hershey Park.
What is your best pick up line?
I’m not a photographer, but I can picture me and you together (I just Googled that)
What are your pet peeves?
When people eat really loud, that’s probably the worst thing in the world. When people smack their lips when eating food or chewing gum that really gets me.
What’s your favorite movie?
Favorite Disney movies are “Up” and “Hercules.” I’m still considering getting the tattoo “Adventure is out there,” from “Up” because it’s such a great tagline for life. Braveheart and the Prestige are my favorite non-animated movies.
What is your favorite kitchen utensil?
Spatula, gotta support Spongebob on that one!
What is a little known fact about yourself?
Not a lot of people know that I sing, I kind of define myself by that now.
Also that my first name is David because I just go by Seth.
