We have all gotten to that time of year where we are tired of wearing 15 layers every time we go outside.  Sadly enough, we become to look more like marshmallows and less like students.  Here are some tips to spice up your style for the rest of the winter:

Puffer Coat
We all have one, and the good news is they can be a fashion statement and warm! They are definitely the number one cause of the marshmallow effect, but have no fear you can still rock them.

Puffer coats come have all kinds of different patterns and colors.  Go bold with a magenta or hunter green to break out of the neutral winter norm.  Whether you want to go for a colorful or neutral puffer coat, pair it with a fun gingham scarf or a brightly colored sweater.  The look is especially great on freezing cold days.

To Work
It’s hard to be chic when going to your internship in the cold weather, but this outfit will make you want to bundle up.

There is an absolute elegance about wearing a skirt and tights in the winter, but it’s hard to stand out when black tights are a staple. To mix it up, pair your black skirt and tights with a patterned coat, bold colored sweater, sparkly earrings and detailed flats or booties.

Mixing Prints
Don’t be afraid to mix prints this season.

This is a really basic, but adorable outfit with pieces that should already be in your closet.  Jeans, a striped shirt, a plaid scarf, hunter boots and tortoise shell sunnies create a cute and casual winter outfit.

Miniskirt
I have great news for those of you whose closets are packed with miniskirts and chunky sweater.

Pair them together with over the knee boots and you will be getting compliments all day long.

Going Out
Figuring out what to wear to go out in the winter is probably one of the biggest struggles for every girl.

You can never go wrong with a black leather jacket.  Pair your jacket with a plain or graphic tee, a statement necklace, ripped black jeans and lace up flats.  This rocker chic outfit will keep you warm and fashionable.

Spring seems far away right now, but at least you now have some go-to winter outfits to pass the time. Stay chic, collegiettes!
