Weekend Warrior: Three Pre Spring Tips

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Marquette chapter.

While it may seem like we’re trapped in an endless winter, this week marks the beginning of spring. I don’t suggest breaking out the sun dresses or sandals just yet, but here are some things you can do to prepare in case this snow ever melts. Don’t let the sunshine and warm weather catch you off guard!

Get a pedicure: You may be wearing UGGs at the moment, but there will come a day to bring out the sandals. Don’t get caught off guard by sunshine – make sure your toes are ready to go. Treat yourself to a pedicure because it’s time to look as good as you feel.

Book your tickets: Milwaukee is the land of the festival. Start researching which artists are performing in our area over the summer. Getting your tickets now will give you something to look forward to. The stars at Summerfest sell quickly, but there are all sorts of local acts that are not to be missed. Be open to seeing new shows and keep in mind the ethnically specific festivals that will provide you with a unique summer experience. If this isn’t what you had in mind, book a trip. Summer is the perfect time to travel, but planning ahead will ensure things go smoothly. Prices often rise as summer approaches, so save some cash for a shopping spree by booking airline tickets or hotel rooms as early as possible.

Hit the Gym: We know, we know…no one wants to be told they need to pick up the pace with their workouts. Don’t worry, collegiettes. We’re only here to help. When they weather is nicer, people are simply more active. Get ready for sand volleyball or spontaneous bike rides by switching up your dull winter workout. Skip the elliptical one day a week and walk to the lake. Or if you haven’t been on the elliptical in a while, stop by the gym with a summer songs playlist for motivation. You’ll thank yourself when spring rolls around and you’re in shape for the beach.
