A Playlist To Get You Through Finals

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Marquette chapter.

Listening to music is one of the best stress relievers. When finals week has gotten the best of you, and you’re searching for motivation, here is a playlist I made to help get you though. I kept it short so it doesn’t distract you too much from studying.

1. Still Breathing by Green Day

This song is a good reminder of how far you’ve come. In the past, when times were tough, you persevered. If you could do it then, you can do it now.

2. Nothing At All by Minor Soul

If you ever feel like you can’t do anything, or you’re not good at something, this is the song for you. It reinforces that sometimes you don’t need a special skill, because if you’re winning at life in general, you are winning. Doing your own thing brings you happiness, and one test can’t mess with you.

3. I Won’t Back Down by Tom Petty

This classic song is a good reminder that you’re stronger than you think. Stand your ground, and don’t let finals get you down.

4. The Greatest by Sia

Sia’s well-known pump up song is a great self-esteem boost. Sing along and tell yourself “don’t give up.”

5. Something to Believe In by Young the Giant

This song is about overcoming one’s inner demons. Find one thing that keeps you believing. Whether it’s a particular stress reliever, a special person, or finding faith from within, stick to that one thing that helps you believe in yourself.

6. Bounce Back by Big Sean

When you have to take L’s, this song tells you to bounce back. Come back from your mistakes and know that just because you bombed the previous English essay, doesn’t mean you’ll bomb the final English essay.

7. Cannonball by Lea Michele

This song will get you searching for the light at the end of the tunnel for finals week, and remind you to live every day.

8. Show ‘Em (What You’re Made Of) by the Backstreet Boys

When this song originally came out, I was so happy the Backstreet Boys were producing music together again. Not only is it an inspiring song with great lyrics, but also it is proof that you can get back to what you once loved. If you once loved history, dig deep inside you to find that passion and it will help motivate you to study your history content.

9. Whatever It Takes by Imagine Dragons

Another song reminding you to do whatever it takes to work hard and get the grades you want on your finals.

10. This is Not a Party by the Wombats

This song is about going crazy in a party situation. It’s a reminder of what could be to come after you’re done with finals!

Slay those tests!
