Music Monday: 10 Best Songs To Get You Up and Ready for Le-Laf Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lehigh chapter.

It’s almost here girls; the one week of the year where we forget all about those calories and go out every day and night with our best friends. This week of fun cannot be met without the proper motivation. That’s why I’m here to tell you which songs will get you up and ready for class, a BBQ, or a party, no matter how exhausted you are!

Wake Me Up- Avicii

The title explains it all! There’s nothing that gets you more excited to party with your friends then some house music with a great build and an amazing drop.

Let It Roll- Flo Rida

Like Flo Rida says, “let the good times roll”. It’s a perfect party song to dance to with your best friends by your side.

How to Be a Heartbreaker- Marina and the Diamonds

Who doesn’t love some girl power? Marina and The Diamonds lets the Lehigh boys know that they don’t have all the control.

G.R.I.N.D. (Get Ready It’s a New Day)- Asher Roth

It’s a bit of a change from Asher Roth’s more popular “I Love College”, but it’s a great song to wake up and get ready for class to after your long night.

Sleepyhead- Passion Pit

“Sleepyhead” is the perfect song to set as your alarm so you wake up ready to head to MoCos. It’s just fast enough to get you excited, but soft enough to not make you want to hit the Snooze button and sleep through one of the best experiences of your life.

Countdown- Beyonce

This is one of my personal favorites to play when my best girl friends are around and ready to party. It makes you think you can sing and dance like Beyoncé, letting you lose all control and forget that you are actually not as graceful as the Queen B.

Timber- Pitbull feat. Ke$ha

Trust me, this song is this year’s “Die Young”. Any song that sings “let’s make a night you won’t remember” is definitely a Lehigh anthem.

Burn- Ellie Goulding

Everyone at Lehigh knows the words to this Ellie Goulding classic. It’s the perfect song to end a night to while you’re dancing on the stage with your friends.

Feed the Dada- Dada Life

This is a song that not many people play here. It has a feel-good beat that makes you want to dance. Even if you’re not in the mood to party, this song will make the blues disappear and get everyone in a happy mood.

Tipsy in the Sun- The White Panda

It’s chilly out when you’re going to BBQs in November. To help you think about those late August afternoons laying in the grass at your favorite frat house, listen to this amazing song. You’ll be in a BBQ-state-of-mind in no time.
