Where to get the best hot chocolate in Leeds…
It’s not quite spring yet, so the weather is still a bit chilly and I’m sure everyone has a little soft spot for a good cup of hot chocolate. So after a chocolate filled Easter for most of us, why not let Her Campus Leeds let you know all the best places in Leeds to have a warming cup of hot chocolate?
Caffé Nero in the Laidlaw library
A convenient and quick place to pick up something hot to drink, the Laidlaw Café can be busy at times but you can get a nice cup of hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows for just about £3, making it a good excuse for a break in the library…
LS6 Café
A more pricey place to get a cup of hot chocolate, at LS6 or The Clock Café you can get a big cup of chocolatey goodness (only for a bit more than all the other places listed here). But it’s worth paying more for, LS6 has a relaxing, laid-back atmosphere – perfect for a weekend catch up or brunch!
Balcony
Just above the Refectory, Balcony makes a great place to get a hot chocolate and even do a bit of work in the seating upstairs! They also offer a normal hot chocolate and a deluxe hot chocolate for just a few more pence, so why not treat yourself to the Deluxe hot chocolate? Or if you’re in need of an afternoon boost you can get the Deluxe Mocha, the dash of coffee in the hot chocolate with some cream and marshmallows makes it a sweet and warming pick-me-up.
Miro’s Café
Just opposite Parkinson, Miro’s café offers a really creamy, chocolatey hot chocolate for just over £2! It’s a perfect study stop off or place to get lunch, as they also have a great selection of sandwiches and really good coffee. The service is great too as the owner is lovely and really cares about the quality of beverages and food at Miro’s so would highly recommend!
Roots and Fruits
This vegetarian and vegan restaurant and café, located in the Grand Arcade, is by far the best place to get a hot chocolate in town. They offer an excellent dark hot chocolate, made with Fairtrade and ethically sourced cocoa, offering milk alternatives for those with any special dietary requirements – probably the best hot chocolate you’ll have and for not too bad a price either!
