Stitch For Syria - 17th MayBy May 17, 2013 - 5:00am LEEDS FRIENDS OF SYRIA welcomes you to come along for a very chilled session where we'll be learning how to knit! The class will be led by Nisreen, expert knitter so don't worry if you're a complete beginner, and you can buy some tasty cake to raise some extra funds for charity so bring along a couple of pounds for an extra treat! Yes, we know it's in revision week but it's the perfect antidote to all those essays and stress! The aim is to get each person to knit a square, which will eventually be sewn together to make a big blanket that can be sent on a future aid convoy to Syria. Only £1 to cover the cost of materials. Charity Bake Sale // 3rd May in LUUBy May 3, 2013 - 5:00am The Event (mmm cake!) The profit raised at the bake sale will be split between the Emma Maltby Memorial Fund and the Teenage Cancer trust. The event is being hosted by Charlotte Prince, who has felt the benefits of both charitites. Between 10:00am and 4:00pm on the 3rd May, a large selection of baked goods will be on sale. Come and get your sugar fix and raise some money for extremely worthy causes! About the Charities · The Emma Maltby Memorial Fund (charity No: 1116414) provides cancer patients with educational, emotional and developmental support to allow them to stay on at school/university/higher education.
