Women’s History Month: Music Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Le Moyne chapter.

In honor of women’s history month, I wanted to highlight all my fierce faves that inspire me!

Demi Lovato

Demi is so great because we got to grow up with her. My favorite thing about her is that she is never afraid to be herself and admit her flaws. She turned her weakness into her strengths. So there’s no need to be insecure because one day it could make you famous!

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga has been killing the game since 2008 with “Just Dance” and “Poker Face.” Gaga is unafraid to speak out about issues that matter to her like sexual assault and also trying new things. (Hello, she did a JAZZ album and started acting!!!!!) So have courage, collegiates!

Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj is a cultural icon in a rap game that is dominated by male artists. She writes her own raps and has created an Minaj brand empire. Nicki shows us that it’s okay to be a boss lady and how to rise to the top.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is a master in the music industry. She used her sweet femininity to become a very, very, very successful pop star! And she never once listened to anyone who tried to criticize her. So keep on doing you because the haters gonna hate hate hate.

Beyonce

Beyonce is the ultimate fierce female singer! From Destiny’s Child to her solo career, she has not stopped. Beyonce is talented dancer, singer, and business woman. She is proud of where she came from and always demands respect. Don’t ever forget your worth!

Just being a fan of everyone on this list has taught me so much. Every one of these women has inspired me to be a fierce, confident woman. Go out into the world and be bosses!
