5 Concerts to rock your summer break

Rock: The Monuments Tour – Fall Out Boy, Paramore, and New Politics

– Three of my favorite rock bands have come together to create a glorious tour that is likely to be epic. Fall Out Boy made their mark on our lives with their hit “Sugar, We’re Going Down” nearly ten years ago! Paramore recently released their fourth studio album and will be singing new jams like my favorite, “Ain’t it Fun”. New Politics are a band that I’ve loved for years now! So nice to see a great band finally breaking out; they’ve been all over the place lately. The gorgeous lead singer, Dave Boyd, is also a professional dancer and break dances on stage! I can’t wait!

Pop: Prismatic World Tour – Katy Perry

– If you saw Katy Perry’s concert movie, you know that her tour centers on having fun. Whether you like her old stuff or her slightly new sound, Katy’s music will still get you dancing! Get a head start buy checking out her new album; her songs like “Legendary Lovers”, “This is How We Do”, and her new single, “Birthday” are good for procrastinating. Trust me, I would know.

Country: That’s My Kind of Night Tour – Luke Bryan

– Country music is so awesome. One of my favorite singers, Luke Bryan, is currently in the middle of his tour named after his MASSIVE hit, “That’s My Kind of Night”. Not only does Luke have a great voice, his songs cover a wide range, like most country albums, playing songs that make you want to dance and ones that make you want to cry. Overall, this show is going to be a party, get your tickets while you can!

Indie: Chromeo

– These guys might sound vaguely familiar if you haven’t kept up with them since their breakout album, Fancy Footwork, came out in 2007. Chromeo is a perfect mix of funky and fun; their tour is sure to be a non-stop dance party!  The boys are back with a new album called, White Women, (lol) and new single called “Jealous”. Festival: Governors Ball Festival (NYC)

– Last year I went to Governors Ball and it was one of the craziest, most fun experiences of my life! My favorite band, Kings of Leon, was one of the headliners. This year, the headliners are OutKast, Jack White, and Vampire Weekend. However, if those acts don’t float your boat, other performers include Bastille, The 1975, Skrillex, J. Cole, Tyler the Creator, Disclosure, Foster the People, and many, many more. I hope I can go for a second year in a row. These tickets go fast, so get yours ASAP:  http://governorsballmusicfestival.com/

* Honarable Mention: The Wanted! This will be guys’ last tour. They shockingly announced their breakup a couple of months ago, so if you like them, definitely check out their tour. I’ve seen them in concert and they sound great live!
