Phin Phood & Phitness: Conquering Your Health and Exercise Issues

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Le Moyne chapter.

Okay ladies, here’s your nutrition scoop for the week! All of us are working out butts off in the gym (or we should be at least  ) and after that we go in for a healthy meal. Most of the time though, women commonly go for water as their drink of choice during and after a workout. Although water is great for you, you gotta mix it up sometimes!!

After a workout it is great to drink some chocolate milk. It replenishes what you’ve lost and really does wonders for your body when it’s all worn out! Make sure to grab a full glass of that and another cup of water!

During a workout it’s really good to drink some
Gatorade if you’re working hard! If that’s too sweet for you definitely just water it down a little bit in a water bottle.  That should be perfect! Work these into your workout diet and you’ll be feelin’ fine! Thanks for stopping by ladies and I’ll see you next week! Keep reading for the scoop on the excerise of the week!

Valerie here to make sure you start this week off great with a new power move under your belt J I know being in college it’s hard to get to the gym sometimes to use weights so I found the perfect arm exercise to get rid of that annoying arm flab WITHOUT needing anything but you and your mat!

The power move of the week is called: The Downward Dog Pushup

Strange name I know but with this Pilates inspired move will help turn that excessive flab into fab fit arms!

Here’s how to do the move:

  • Start off by assuming the downward dog yoga position, which is where you position yourself by putting your hands on the ground with your legs straight. This position will make your body look triangle shaped. Then point your feet and your fingers forward.
  • Next you want to slide back and forth from a standard push-up position back down to the starting downward dog position.
  • Do this about ten to twenty times and do about two to three repetitions.

And there you have it my fabulous followers! There’s your key to awesome arms in one simple move!
