Life Without A Roommate

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Le Moyne chapter.

Just by reading the title you might think “yeaaaaa room to myself!” But that’s not the case.

See coming to Le Moyne, I was suppose to have two roommates, two! At first, I thought well double the fun but then maybe it might be cramped after visiting a room in Dablon. (Shout out to Dabs!) But luckily I had one roommate and a corner room. Meaning that room was huge!!! I loved it! Then again that was freshmen year.

This year, senior year, I’m back in a freshmen dorm as a Resident Advisor and I’m by myself. Believe it or not, I had the best roommate for my first three years here at Le Moyne. The absolute best. No fights, no arguments! We lived together like we knew each other for sooooo long. We were comfortable from gasy and embarrassing stories to crying together and silly jokes.

Being by myself now, I don’t have that person to say “Tiffy, get your butt out of bed” or that person to recite every line in a movie we watch and have a night convo before going to sleep. I miss my roomie! Being in a single, staring at the wall or ceiling is boring. Visiting my old roomie isn’t the same because I have to either leave or be on time for duty.

Moral of this story, if you got a good roommate, stick with that roommate. It’s weird being by yourself still living on campus. Shout to the best but crazy- my family, Marie Harrell. Things just aren’t the same on campus…. Room wise!
