Perks of Being Single on Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lasell chapter.

While being single on V-Day may seem like an epic fail, there are actually a lot of upsides to your relationship status that aren’t included in a Beyonce song:

  1. You can’t be let down-

Every Valentine’s day it seems that when you’re in a relationship you build up these great expectations for a romantic date night, however, they are never really met.  Being single, there’s no pressure.

2. You will save so much money-

Because you won’t have to buy a gift for your significant other, you can use that money to spend on yourself.

3. You don’t have to share your Valentine’s Candy with anyone-

Enough said.

4. You can watch whatever mushy Rom-Com you want-

Fifty Shades Darker, anyone?

    5. You can spread your love-

At the end of the day, Valentine’s day is about love in general and without having to focus all of your love on one person.
